Hi Dawn. I take 400mg a day of Plaquenil, 200mg morning and 200mg at night. Initially when Dr starts you on it the dose is usually 400-600mg per day in either 1 or 2 doses then Dr usually tries to reduce to 200-400mg per day to maintain therapeutic…

Dawn, I've noticed the average mgs. others take is between 200-400mgs at night. If it is bothersome, you could ask your Dr to reduce the mgs. Keep us posted! Kathy

I don't take plaquenil anymore because I began having something that was mimicking macular degeneration in my eyes, but when I was taking it I was taking 400mg per day as well and that was down from 600mg originally. I think the dose is primarily de…

Work might be a problem, especially if your boss won't listen to you. Make them. If you feel like you're getting sick( or in pain, etc.) take the day off. I didn't once, and was down for two weeks. For dealing with the family.....well.... that may…

Hey there Dawn, Nice to meet you! I had a family like yours... and this is no bull. It's real as real can be. The meds the Dr has you on sounds like he is willing to treat your symptoms which is cool, some Drs. just say take OTC Tylenol or Motrin f…

Hey Dawn,
Hang in there... Now let's start with camping. Do you have access to borrow a Coleman air mattress with a pump you can use for you to sleep on? If so get the air matressess and lots of thick blankets to lay on top to cushion it some for your body.

As for your baby bruising you, it's possible if you are anemic or are on certain medications. Look at the labels or online look up side affects. If not, then call your Dr so he can do a CBC (complete blood count) and see how bad anemic you are and get you on iron. Or if you still have prenatal tabs, heck, I'd take them, wouldn't hurt.

It's good hubby wants to go with you to next Dr visit, that is great, so he can hear for himself and ask questions too. Don't be afraid to speak up and remind the Dr you have a baby too and you just can't bounce back being sick right now.

You are NOT lazy and I'm sure you would love to be doing many things that require activity, but sadly when you are in pain, who wants to do much but get better? Problem is, you just can't snap out of it.

Hang in there Dawn. Try to think of creative ways to go camping... air mattress, lots of balnkets, feather mattress (big & bulky but will help you out)

Im pretty uneducated when it comes to using these websites. so please forgive me if my ediquite is not right. I really appreciate all of the info everyone gives me! My husband is eager to see the doctor with me, he looks at the websites they suggestes (mayo clinic). Yet he wants me to go camping in a tent with him, my 13yr old son, and my 21 month old daughter.. hello??? I could do it, but OMG.. I would be in pain!!
I can barely get out of bed sleeping on a matress, how do I get them to all see what little things they don't realize I can't do? My family thinks the reason I say no to many functions is because I am lazy or don't want to do. The truth is that if I am over exerted or in the sun too much, I will be sick for almost a week. Is this normal?? Also, my baby who is under 24months, kicks me and hits me alot and I look like an abused wife, is it normal to bruise so much??? please help me, my doc thinks the internet will answer all my questions, but it only does to a point. thank you to all who respond, because i get more depressed every day!!!!
