Kiasha,
At 44 years old I had my first artery stent put in my right groin for blockage to my right leg & foot. Followed by 3 more Angioplasties up till last November still trying to unblock my blockages.
Diet as well as exercise I guess can help, I am more mobile since my surgeries since I can walk witout pain in my leg & hip.
(I just have lower back & neck pain I can live with)
I love fruits & veggies, but other than my Blueberries I'm not sure what else what one should try to eat
Hi Kiasa,
I don't know if this is right for everybody but I try to walk a little everyday to keep my circulation going. Also, to try and keep my muscles from turning to mush. I have problems with walking some days due to chostchondritis and pericarditis. When I have chest pain I take it easy. I think staying moving even if it is very gentle stretching is good for everyone.
I think this can be a important discussion. Learning and Support for change and prevention is my game plan. I really hate flare ups both fibromyalgia and SLE........YUK
I found out today that 1200mg or more of calcium per day slows arterial aging.
A daily potassium intake of 3000 mg or more per day lowers your blood pressure, slows aging of your circulatory system, and prevents strokes. Some potassium-rich foods include: orange juice, potatoes, avocados, figs, bananas, lentils, soybeans, and whole grain breads and cereals.
