Welcome everyone in search of support & information of Lupus & MCTD

I just, just moved down to Florida about 2 months ago for college.
It's been warm and sunny, and I've been hoping that moving to a warmer climate would help the disease. So far, on a day to day basis it has been helping.

However, I've had more flares than usual. So far, I've had about 4 or so? Every other week or so I have to spend the weekend in bed.

The first flare was about 2 weeks after I got here, and I was laid up in bed with a cold-turned-flare. Lots of pain, but not super bad. It would have been labeled a "moderate" flare. About ever other week though, I've had "minor" flares. Some back and hip pain, which makes walking hard. I'm at the University of Central Florida, and...It's a big college, and so walking is a must...

I've also had some emotional problems, but it seems to be disease and stress related.

I just want to double check and see if college and moving is enough to trigger a bunch of little flares.

I think it is, but I've only had the disease since 2004....and it's been pretty low key before.
Just want to double check. :)

Oh Honey yes!
the stress of just going back to school, let alone moving away from home (the largest stress factor) will throw you into a tailspin.

Please pace yourself & take it easy for awhile, *baby steps*
You did giant steps to get where you are at for the change of weather, now it's slow down time, taking it easy..
God Bless you, you are one strong girl to take this giant step to better yourself.
You should be applauded for your efforts.

welcome to the board!

Oh Yes indeed these changes can trigger flares..

Stress of all kinds are involved in a move including exposure to virus's bacterias your body fights off naturally and adjust to..
Look around in your home enviorment for changes like filters,plants,lighting...Cleaning products, diet changes all can create a response in our bodies.

Look for changes in your response to body mechanics this may help your assemsnt on small changes we usually do not notice. Book load etc...
